IGF-1 LR3

IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is a synthetic 83-amino-acid analogue of human Insulin-like Growth Factor-1. The LR3 modification includes a 13-amino-acid extension at the N-terminus and an arginine substitution at position 3, which significantly reduces its binding affinity for IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs 1–6). This structural modification results in increased bioavailability in cell culture systems compared to native IGF-1 and has made IGF-1 LR3 a preferred research tool in studies of the IGF-1R/PI3K/Akt signalling axis, myoblast proliferation assays, and serum-free cell culture media supplementation.
